YouTube Comment Analyzer (“the Extension”) is a Chrome Extension designed to help users analyze public comments on YouTube videos using natural language processing and sentiment analysis. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring full transparency in how data is handled.

Data Collection & Usage

• The extension processes only publicly available YouTube comments from the video currently viewed by the user.
• All analysis is performed locally within your browser; no data is sent to external servers.
• No personally identifiable information is collected, stored, or shared.
• No user credentials, browsing history, or private data are accessed.

Permissions

This extension requires the following permissions, solely to provide its stated functionality:

• storage – Saves visualization preferences and temporary analysis results locally.
• activeTab – Identifies the currently active YouTube tab to run the analysis.
• scripting – Injects scripts to extract comments for processing.
• host_permissions – Accesses YouTube and related API domains for comment retrieval.

Third-Party Services

The extension may optionally use the YouTube Data API to retrieve comment threads. This access fully complies with YouTube’s API Services Terms of Service.

Data Sharing

• No user data is ever shared with third parties.
• The extension does not track, sell, or transfer any data to advertisers or analytics services.
• All comment analysis happens locally within your browser session.

Security

All operations occur securely inside your Chrome browser environment. The extension does not communicate with any external servers or store data outside your device.

User Rights

As no personal data is collected or stored, there is no personal information to access, modify, or delete. You can remove all locally stored extension data by uninstalling the extension from Chrome.

Policy Updates

This privacy policy may be updated occasionally to reflect improvements in functionality or compliance requirements. Any changes will be posted here with an updated “Effective Date.”
